Poem: Just Enough

Just Enough

Just enough religion to hate one another
Not enough religion to love one another

Just enough time to hate my brother
Not enough time to embrace my other

Just enough of a breath to curse my sister
Not enough of a breath to save her

Just enough of an ear to ignore the Vicar
Not enough of an ear to learn from the Vicar

Just enough of an eye to stab the Rabbi
Not enough of an eye to gaze at the Rabbi

Just enough of an arm to push away the Imam
Not enough of an arm to grow closer to the Imam

Just enough of a tongue to ask “where is the One”?
Not enough of a tongue to speak to Him one on one

Just enough religion to hate one another
Not enough religion to love one another

    Calm and wise poem dear.
The whole enigmatic nature of religion…
    Thank you for the light.
