Taste the Fruit

Oh blessed tree

Allah created you in perfection

You stand so majestically

For indeed your roots

Helped blossom many fruits

One by the name of Al-Ghazali

Another named Imam Busiri

Never should i forget Imam Bukhari

Nor Imam Nawawi

Alas, there season came and went

Their sweet juice of knowledge quenched

the thirst of the knowledge seeker

But now, comes a new season

Such ripe, blessed and sweet fruits

Eyes are engaged with the beauty of Shaykh Yaqoubi

Fingers love to question Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

Tongues love to repeat the words of Shaykh Hamza Yusuf

And that of his teacher Shaykh Abdallah Bin Bayyah

The stomach loves to take its fill from the knowledge of Shaykh Abdal Aziz

Hearts love to pump knowledge that of Shaykh Suhaib Webb and Shaykh Zaid Shakir

And the soul loves to converse with the soul of Shaykh Fazal Daad

For indeed these fruits are currently in season

And yes you can drink their sweet juice of knowledge

But enjoy it while you can

For all fruits come and go, out of season

Wow! What a nice piece of writing, judgeing by the title, I didn’t expect such a good piece. The personal touches about sheikh Abdal Aziz and Moulana Fazal Dad are great too.
    Take care speak soon.

Masha’Allah brother, you amaze me. Such beautiful poetry. The descriptions of the shayukh mentioned and how our limbs act in their presence or away from their presence are really true… Masha’Allah. Thank you for sharing such thoughts with us all.

A lovely way to speak about the scholars, especially the contemparary ones. They may not be of the calibre of the scholars of the past, but they are all certainly doing an excellent job on behalf of the Ummah. I’ve heard alot about Shaykh Fazal Dad, but haven’t actually seen him. I think he’s from Yorkshire (if I’m correct).
