@ Daniel: :) thank you for your kind words.  One thing that has affected me is that whenever I have attended a traditional Islamic class, the relationship between a student and teacher is always stressed.  The link between them both which leads to the teacher of teachers, the Prophet (peace and blessings upon him).  However, in classes of secular education there seems to be no link.  No relationship. No attachment to the teacher and his teachers, and his teachers, and so forth.

The man I speak of in this poem has affected me so much.  Given me so much.  
I decided not to include his name, firstly out of modesty, but secondly, so that the reader could take something away from the poem about his or her teachers.
It could be a poem about all teachers :)</description>
